Artist Statement

I am interested in how things compare to themselves. The environment or context of something changes it. In my analysis of a piece I add or subtract different elements as a way to simplify or complicate a work altering the interpretation. Through the process of making and installing my work I find solace, however, this feeling is consumed by my efforts to understand why I made the piece and how I view it. Exploring this cathartic yet detrimental cycle is the basis for my thesis.
