Artist Statement

Through my personal sense of aesthetic, my work represents my journey to tranquility and happiness. Many believe that all artists are discontent with life—only creating good work through frustration and disappointment. My paintings challenge this misconception. Depicting mostly people, my work represents the natural beauty of humanity devoid of superficial bias and subjectivity. Often, people lose themselves in a cloud of emotion that leaves them with only dissatisfaction. Rather than focusing my concepts on temporary frustration, my paintings describe the timeless impermanence of all experiences. On my journey, I recognize the positives of mortality by focusing on its one constant: aesthetics. Everyone recognizes beauty, and the intent of my work is to encourage further discovery: both introspectively and externally.
